What ages and grades is Brightwick for?
Brightwick is designed for Canadian kids in Grades 3 to 8 (roughly ages 8 to 14). Content is scoped to each child's grade so they only see lessons that match where they are.
Which subjects are covered?
Mathematics, English, and Science. Lessons are curriculum-aligned and cover number sense, operations, fractions, measurement, reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, writing, and science topics from living things and matter and energy to structures and Earth and space.
Does Brightwick work outside Ontario?
Yes. Lessons are built on the Ontario curriculum for Grades 3–8, while core skills such as number sense, fractions, reading comprehension, grammar, and foundational science overlap substantially with other provincial curricula. Families outside Ontario can use Brightwick for practice, but should consult their own province's curriculum for exact grade-level expectations.
Is Brightwick safe and private for my child?
Yes. Brightwick is built privacy-first for young learners: there are no ads, no third-party advertising trackers, and we never sell data. Each child signs in with their own username and password (no child email needed), and parents control all account and billing settings.
How much does Brightwick cost?
Brightwick is free during early access, with no payment information required. The planned price after early access is $12.99 CAD per month for full access to Math, English, and Science for up to 4 child profiles. We will give families advance notice, and no one will be charged without explicitly choosing a paid subscription.
Is Brightwick only for summer learning?
No — Brightwick is built for year-round learning. Use it during the school year to reinforce classroom lessons and build homework confidence, and over the summer or holiday breaks to keep skills sharp. Short daily plans and gentle streaks make it easy to keep a steady routine in any season.
Do I need to sit with my child while they use it?
No — Brightwick is built for independent self-study. One question per screen, a calm layout, and instant pre-vetted feedback let kids work on their own. You can check their progress any time from the parent dashboard.
Can I add more than one child?
Yes. One parent account supports up to four child profiles, each with their own grade, progress, stars, and streaks.
Does it work offline?
Brightwick is an installable progressive web app (PWA), so you can add it to a phone, tablet, or computer home screen and launch it like a native app. Lessons and quizzes do need an internet connection to load — if the network drops briefly, you'll see a friendly offline screen and can retry once you're back online.
How do I cancel?
There is nothing to cancel during free early access. When paid subscriptions begin, families who choose a plan will be able to manage or cancel it at any time through the secure Stripe customer portal.
