What ages and grades is Brightwick for?
Brightwick is designed for Canadian kids in Grades 3 to 8 (roughly ages 8 to 14). Content is scoped to each child's grade so they only see lessons that match where they are.
Which subjects are covered?
Mathematics, English, and Science. Lessons are curriculum-aligned and cover number sense, operations, fractions, measurement, reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, writing, and science topics from living things and matter and energy to structures and Earth and space.
Does Brightwick work outside Ontario?
Yes. Lessons are built on the Ontario curriculum for Grades 3–8, one of the most detailed frameworks in Canada, and the core skills — number sense, fractions, reading comprehension, grammar, and foundational science — closely mirror what's taught in British Columbia, Alberta, and every other province. Kids anywhere in Canada can use Brightwick to reinforce what they learn in class.
Is Brightwick safe and private for my child?
Yes. Brightwick is built privacy-first for young learners: there are no ads, no third-party advertising trackers, and we never sell data. Each child signs in with their own username and password (no child email needed), and parents control all account and billing settings.
How much does Brightwick cost?
Brightwick is a single monthly plan at $12.99 (CAD) with full access to all Math, English, and Science content for up to 4 child profiles. You can cancel anytime from the customer portal.
Is Brightwick only for summer learning?
No — Brightwick is built for year-round learning. Use it during the school year to reinforce classroom lessons and build homework confidence, and over the summer or holiday breaks to keep skills sharp. Short daily plans and gentle streaks make it easy to keep a steady routine in any season.
Do I need to sit with my child while they use it?
No — Brightwick is built for independent self-study. One question per screen, a calm layout, and instant pre-vetted feedback let kids work on their own. You can check their progress any time from the parent dashboard.
Can I add more than one child?
Yes. A single subscription supports multiple child profiles, each with their own grade, progress, stars, and streaks.
Does it work offline?
Brightwick is an installable progressive web app (PWA), so you can add it to a phone, tablet, or computer home screen and launch it like a native app. Lessons and quizzes do need an internet connection to load — if the network drops briefly, you'll see a friendly offline screen and can retry once you're back online.
How do I cancel?
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through the secure Stripe customer portal, reachable from your billing page. Access continues until the end of the paid period.
