Terms of Service
Last updated August 5, 2026
Draft — pending legal review. These terms are a good-faith draft and are not yet legally binding. They are being reviewed by a qualified Canadian lawyer before public launch and do not constitute legal advice.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Brightwick, operated by Brightwick. By creating an account you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself and any child profiles you create.
Who may use Brightwick
You must be a parent or legal guardian, of the age of majority in your province or territory, to create an account. You are responsible for the child profiles you create and for supervising your children’s use of the service as appropriate.
Accounts and sign-in
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials — and any sign-in credentials you provision for your children — confidential. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it current.
Early access, subscriptions, and billing
- Brightwick is currently available through free early access, with no payment information required.
- We will provide reasonable advance notice before paid access begins. The planned price is $12.99 CAD per month, including up to four child profiles and available Math, English, and Science content.
- Early-access families will not be enrolled or charged automatically. A paid subscription begins only if you explicitly choose one and complete checkout.
- Paid subscriptions are processed securely by Stripe and can be cancelled from the billing page. Prices may change with reasonable advance notice.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service — including attempting to breach security, access other families’ data, scrape or resell content, reverse-engineer the app, or use it for any unlawful purpose. Lesson and quiz content is provided for personal, non-commercial educational use.
Intellectual property
Brightwick and its content are owned by Brightwickor its licensors and are protected by applicable law. We grant you a limited, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the service for your family’s personal learning.
Service availability
We work to keep Brightwick available and accurate, but the service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Brightwick will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Termination
You may stop using Brightwick and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we must act on for legal or security reasons.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
