Halves and Quarters

Lesson

A fraction shows equal parts of a whole. One half (1/2) means one of two equal parts. One quarter (1/4) means one of four equal parts.

If you cut a pizza into 4 equal slices, each slice is one quarter. Two of those slices, 2/4, is the same as one half.
