Grade 3 Math · Multiplication

Multiplying by 5

Public preview: this is approved, human-reviewed lesson content. It is non-interactive, and your answers or progress are not collected or saved.

Lesson

When you multiply by 5, you can count by fives: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25.

Every answer in the 5 times table ends in either 0 or 5. So 5 × 3 = 15 and 5 × 4 = 20. That pattern is a handy way to check your work.
