Numbers to 1000

Place value, reading, comparing, and rounding numbers up to 1000.

Learning goals

  • Place Value to 1000Identify the hundreds, tens, and ones in a three-digit number.
  • Reading and Writing NumbersRead and write numbers to 1000 in standard and word form.
  • Comparing and Ordering NumbersCompare numbers to 1000 using greater than, less than, and equal to.
  • Skip CountingSkip count by 2s, 5s, 10s, 25s, and 100s.
  • Rounding to the Nearest Ten and HundredRound whole numbers to the nearest ten and hundred.

Addition and Subtraction

Adding and subtracting up to three-digit numbers, with regrouping.

  • Subtracting with RegroupingSubtract two- and three-digit numbers, regrouping when needed.
  • Estimating Sums and DifferencesEstimate sums and differences by rounding first.

Multiplication

Times tables as equal groups and repeated addition.

  • Multiplying by 10Multiply by 10 and notice the place-value pattern.

Sharing and grouping equally, and division facts.
